Peter Lion was inclined towards writing from a very young age. Throughout his maturing years in Connecticut he was seen dabbling in poetry and also wrote numerous short stories. His talent in this field was further honed when after enrolling in the Notre Dame High School in Connecticut he started contributing to the students school newspaper.

He got down to make a career of his passion with the words first by getting a degree in Journalism from the Southern Connecticut State University. He printed his first magazine article in the Hartford Magazine before he had graduated with his journalism degree.

He entered into the television business even before he’d completed his college. A few months before graduation, Peter Lion took up a job with WTNH-TV as part time graphics operator. This television channel was an associate of the ABC network and was based out of New Haven. Peter Lion though, didn’t have experience in this field grabbed this opportunity to gain an entry and to develop a foothold in the news and tv industry.

He mastered the ropes rapidly, comprehending the technicalities in the workings of the television network and continued to be a part of the channel for more than a time period of two years.

Then he moved to Boston and started working together with WSBK as a Technical Director. He labored on several projects, his major one being the Boston Red Sox Baseball and Boston Bruins Hockey. However, his desire to be in television and his passion for writing pulled him back in his home state as a part of a little television station start-up.

He signed up with this team as a director and a technical director with the 10 PM news cast, which was to become the first within the state. He grabbed this opportunity of exhibiting his talent and knowledge as with his stint in Boston he’s had the capacity of working together with several accomplished directors. He used this understanding to build the show from the beginning.

Peter Lion moved to Pittsburg and joined KADA TV after completing two years with this start-up. In his stint with this television network, he exploited the many facets of his talent and worked as a weather anchor, announcer, news producer, feature producer and director. It had been during his stint at KADA-TV that Peter Lion found inspiration for his book titled The American St. Nick”.

Then he moved back to Connecticut and became a part of ESPN sports network. Still a part of ESPN, he’s responsible for a variety of their shows like Sports Centre as well as the NFL Draft in his position in the organization as a Director. His main show however, remains, College Gameday.

He has been a two time winner in the Emmy awards, even though he’s been nominated many times for his contribution while in the television industry. He got his first Emmy for his work with Sports Centre and received his second Emmy for the show NFL countdown.

Apart from working, Peter Lion is presently focusing on his second book. He’s also a part of a band that goes by the name of Cheaper than Therapy” and is also its lead singer and guitarist
